Badia of Glory - Anagni (FR), 2011

The Abbey of Glory is an ancient monastery dating back to the thirteenth century. It was one of the main residences of the Order florense. The intervention of consolidation with the aim of seismic adapting of a structure outdated and in precarious condition, has been the main problem of the structural design. Interventions on the extrados of the vaults, widespread consolidations on the walls, replacement of wooden elements without losing the expressive power of the ancient image. The Abbey of Glory was the subject of a real example of structural design. Particular attention has been exercised in replacement of wooden textures regarding the classroom above, in which each new element recalls the previous ones, although the structural functionality have changed, now adapting to the current standards.
